Sandomierz invites

– a fragment of the old defensive walls, one of the four surviving city gates. Founded in the 14th century by King Casimir the Great. It is 33 meters high. At its top, there is a viewing terrace.

– erected at the beginning of the 17th century on the foundation of Hieronim Gostomski, late Renaissance style, it has preserved its original architectural shape and function. It is one of the oldest secondary schools in Poland.

– built in 1476 by the foundation of the famous historian Jan Długosz. One of the best-preserved Gothic residential houses. Inside, it houses rich collections of the Diocesan Museum. The museum has very valuable collections in the fields of painting, sacred sculpture, textiles, small plastic arts, and elements of architectural decor, as well as decorative art, ceramics, furniture collections, numismatics, and archaeology.

– this is the oldest mountain range visible on the lands of Poland, built from middle Cambrian shales, which are visible as an outcrop covered with Quaternary formations. Their age is estimated at about 500 million years. On the area of the Pepper Mountains, there is an 18-hectare nature reserve with twelve species of wild rose, constituting a unique natural rosarium on a European scale. The terrain of the reserve has a varied relief, is strongly folded and cut by numerous ravines. The mountains owe their name to the exposures of gray-black and dark ash-colored clay shales resembling the color of pepper. The highest elevation is at 201 meters above sea level.

– in its current form dates back to the 18th century. In this tenement house in 1570, representatives of Polish Lutherans, Calvinists, and the Unity of the Brethren concluded the “agreement” and developed the applicable catechism. From the courtyard of this tenement house, there is an entrance to the Underground Tourist Route.

– built in the 14th century. Along with the adjoining buildings of the former hospital, it formed a monastic complex run by the hospital order called the Duchaks. It is one of the oldest charity institution buildings in Poland.

– built in 1226, late Romanesque, it has preserved the typical spatial layout of a monastery building. It is the oldest and most valuable monument in Sandomierz, and at the same time one of the first brick churches built in Poland, classified among a narrow group of monuments of the highest class. Worth noting is the late Romanesque ceramic decoration of the façade, especially the northern portal, considered one of the most beautiful ceramic portals in the country.

– the complex of the former Reformat monastery built in the 17th century. It is the youngest monument in Sandomierz. A peculiarity of the church is the mummified remains of Teresa Morsztynówna, lying in a glass coffin in the church's crypt.

– built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. The former Benedictine complex is an excellent example of Baroque monastic architecture in Poland. Since 1903, it has housed the Higher Theological Seminary. Stone portals and gables topped with statues create rich architecture of the building.

– was built in the 15th / 17th century, features rich stucco decoration and Baroque interior furnishings. The church was founded in 1226 by Bishop Iwon Odrowąż. Originally, it was a wooden temple, on the site of which the current Gothic building was erected in the 15th century.

– underground merchant warehouses from the 15th-17th centuries stretching under the tenement houses in the Market Square. The Underground Route is about half a kilometer long. The deepest level reaches 12 meters underground. The route consists of 34 chambers.

– This is the only preserved Sandomierz granary to this day. It is located near the Vistula escarpment, in the valley of the Vistula River. Built in the 17th century.

– established in the 17th / 18th century. The Sandomierz Jewish commune was one of the largest and most important in Lesser Poland in the Middle Ages. Currently a city archive.

– Located in the southwestern part of the city. The beginning of the ravine is near St. Paul's Church on the Świętopawelskie Hill. It is a vast loess ravine, formed as a result of water erosion. Its length is about 500 meters. The maximum height at its outlet exceeds 10m, where the ravine walls are the steepest. The slopes of the ravine are covered with deciduous trees.

– a place popular with school youth. You can try on armor and see weapons up close. The armory is open in season.

– The Banner of the Knights of the Sandomierz Land was formally established in 1994 as one of the sections of the Folk Sports Club "Sandomierz". It organizes independent outdoor-historical events, participates in official ceremonies, anniversaries, jubilees, fairs, festivals, etc. The Sandomierz Knighthood invites you to weekend shows and performances in the Old Town of Sandomierz. The offer includes shows of court dances, reenactments of Tatar raids, demonstrations of knightly martial arts, archery and crossbow shooting using historical weapons, parades and marches of various medieval military formations, artillery demonstrations from the 15th to 17th century, medieval justice displays (dungeons, torture chambers), and ceremonial changing of the guard at the town hall.
